Some reasons to learn Japanese, or any other languages.

Updated: May 24

Little Plaza is launching Japanese language sessions to promote the benefits of learning a foreign language from ages 6 onwards between the preoperational stage and the concrete operational stage, (Piaget's model of cognitive development) where the child may have huge gains in their language thinking and old enough to form more sophisticated thought process to understand to relate to their environment. Every child is different. Here below is a list of reasons to learn Japanese or any other languages.

Opens a new part of the world, from manga, anime, art, games, fashion, music, food and culture.

  1. Cartoons, manga, from Anpanman (a bread hero), Pokemon, Totoro and lots of loveable characters to explore in the original language.

  2. Japanese arts like origami are great for finger movements and concentration.

  3. Classic Nintendo game about a pair of Italian Brothers

  4. Fashion, we all want to make sure the Japanese writing or Kenji on the clothes say something sensible and able to translate wise old proverbs. UNIQLO recently open a store in Edinburgh.

  5. Music: Studio Ghibli music is very relaxing and Joe Hisaishi's has an amazing effect of taking the audience into the scene.

  6. Food, Sushi, Ramen, Soba, Tontkatsu, what is Takoyaki or Yakisoba etc, These are important information to know. how the culture and country shaped their cuisine.

There are so many reasons to learn another language. Mr Honda (indirectly) gave my first career opportunity through his Formula 1 team. British Council and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science provide collaboration research opportunities so it is totally feasible for the Japanese Ministry of Science and Technology to invite you to visit and develop your ideas further in Japan. The language will enhance the experience and appreciate the culture more.

Every country will have great cultural export and we look forward to find out more and share at Little Plaza!
